We are engaged in businesses of tea exports under Maskeliya Tea's, Trading, Engineering, Construction & Construction Materials with a vision and further expanded into the marine sector under our subsidiary company RANNARA MARINE SERVICES (PVT) LTD.

We will engage in efforts of building a waste water treatment and oil purification plant and further moving towards ship bunkering operations in the anticipated future. Along with the listed licensing approvals SLPA, JUNK, MEPA, CEA and SLLRDC & CMC, we wish to cater to the vast demands of the Marine industry.

Our team of professionals are experienced in all aspects of marine sector services from waste oil disposal (sludge oil), garbage, sewage, tank cleaning, hull & machinery repairs, painting, chipping, cutting, lashing and unlashing, tank & boiler cleaning, ship repair works, NDT. All Ports: Galle, Hambantota, Trincomalee & Colombo (All Ports)

Our main areas of focus will be the Sludge oil clearing, and further expanding business in the Ship waste management services We aim to timeliness, cleanliness, quality, knowledge, attitude, and lack of comeback, from the ships at Colombo, Galle, Trincomalee & Hambanthota Port respectively.

Sludge removal (at all ports)

With our highly qualified team with a fleet of vessels, Rannara Marine is capable of removing Sludge (Waste) oil from all ports from any type of ship that calls at port, or at sea.

Operating Ships

Rannara Marine handles all aspects of the daily operation of ships - from efficiency, environmental, safety and security issues, to risk management, ship technology, Delivery trials, Fleet performance monitoring, in service performance monitoring, On board advisory systems, Operability assessment, Schedule reliability, Structural response, Trouble shooting and Surveys and Inspections.

Chartering of Ships: Tankers, Tug boats, AHT s, LCTs, Barges, Ferries, etc.

  • Chartering of ships on voyage or time-charter
  • Special Cargo bookings on voyage basis or Contracts (CoA's) for longer periods.
  • Market information and freight cost estimations for customers.
  • Operations and Post-fixture i.e. instructions for the vessels, coordination and follow-up between captains, ship-owners, agents and stevedores in loading and discharging ports to ensure smooth cargo operations, freight / demurrage/ dispatch calculations and settlements, port disbursement settlements.

Sea food Importing and Exporting (Marlin, Tuna, Sail fish)

With the establishment of our import/export department and the expertise of our purchasing team, we are able to purchase and supply high quality seafood (both import and export)

Scrapping

We are able to arrange the scrapping of ships of any size.

Business Analysis

Rannara Marine mainly concentrate on Colombo, Galle, Hambanthota and Trincomalee ports. These vessels are serviced by large local service providers.

The high and medium level industries are being serviced by more than 50 local companies. The material & man power supply is made up of many small local companies. This occurs because of the high labor intensity, low startup costs, nature of the industry. These services are also vulnerable to recessions.

Competition and Servicing Patterns

The marine service providing can be divided into two types, direct servicing when vessel is at pier and services providing through barge, when vessel is at out harbor. As an experienced company, it is much easier to enter into the various industries close to Colombo. The service providing to the high and medium industries are dominated by larger established companies.

Within the marine service providers and man power suppliers, there are more than twenty competitors, full scale companies and basic services. The full scale companies will generally be handling jobs when vessel is at out harbor. They are servicing even larger industries that require other service providing activities that need more equipment and higher skilled employees. The margins are therefore larger for the full-scale companies because they can charge more for the higher skilled work.

Rannara Marine's segment will be initially targeted by many personal & business contacts. The Company has built up a steady list of customer's base, also networking with our current customer base at Rannara group we will reach the fullest capacity.

The prospective will generally form a bit of a bond with the company, because of local familiarity and then company will need to communicate experience in marine services and providing of man power and constant benchmarks of quality and professionalism. By year 2023 the business is forecasted exponential growth that will serve as an effective referral system.
